FINDING KYOTO

Awarded the ‘Font Hero – Best Font Design 2012’ prize, Finding Kyoto is a fun and free-flowing display font inspired by traditional Japanese calligraphy. Its highly modulated strokes which break off and rejoin in sweeping curves capture the energy and liveliness of the forms created by the calligraphy brush. As the name suggests, Finding Kyoto is a font that attempts to reconnect with the traditional Japanese culture in a modern context. The elegance of the hiragana script is coupled with dynamic letterforms in a balance between the old and new.
